Test Description and clinical significance
Genes
TCRG
Disease:
T-cell neoplasm
T-cell Clonality Panel (TCRB, TCRG), interrogates both the T-cell receptor beta (TCRB) locus and the T-cell receptor gamma (TCRG) locus by PCR, is useful in patients with suspected T-cell malignancies or to evaluate for residual disease after treatment. Several published studies have demonstrated that the combination of TCRB and TCRG PCR can detect virtually all clonal T-cell populations.
TCRB testing is recommended.
Specimen Requirements
Collection:
2 ml of peripheral blood or bone marrow aspirate anti-coagulated with heparin or EDTA, Fresh tissue (5mm) in RPMI or saline, Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue or slides, Body fluids (CSF, pleural or ascetic fluid) in RPMI or without fixative
Stability:
96hours/4 to 7 days refrigerated
Unacceptable Conditions:
Unlabeled or improperly labeled samples, Samples older than stability date, Gross hemolysis, Decalcified specimens or specimens fixed in B5
