Genes
STAG2
Disease:
Myelodysplastic neoplasm (MDS), Acute myeloid leukemia (AML), bladder cancer, Mullegama-Klein-Martinez Syndrome and Holoprosencephaly 13, X-Linked
Next generation sequencing of gene panel. The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the cohesin complex, which regulates the separation of sister chromatids during cell division. Targeted inactivation of this gene results in chromatid cohesion defects and aneuploidy, suggesting that genetic disruption of cohesin is a cause of aneuploidy in human cancer.
Specimen Requirements
Collection:
At least 0.5 ml EDTA, citrate (ACD) or Heparinized whole blood or bone marrow aspirates for DNA mutations
Stability:
96hours/4 to 7 days refrigerated
